When stress becomes your normal!
There's something I've been seeing so much of lately in session, but as I write this and reflect back on 22 years of doing this work, its always been the one core picture that has been sitting underneath all the reasons why my clients come in for their health and wellbeing.
So many women and men are living in states of chronic stress — sometimes loud and overwhelming, sometimes subtle and almost invisible.
It has become so normalised that most of us don't even recognise it as stress anymore. Its just a busy life, money struggles, being a parent, being a partner, a friend, a business owner, a human..
The constant mental load.
The pressure to always say yes and meet the needs of others.
The feeling of always needing to hold everything together.
The exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix.
The disconnection from joy.
The feeling that you're not fully present in your own life.
The feeling that you don't know who you are anymore or what you even want in life, or what brings you joy.
The aches and pains in your body that is supposedly due to age/ hormones/peri menopause/menopause/post menopause.
And underneath it all… a nervous system that has been in survival for far too long.
What I see so often is women believing there is something wrong with them because they feel exhausted, in pain and chronic inflammation, emotionally flat, hormonally dysregulated, putting on weight, disconnected from themselves/their partners/their kids, reactive, overwhelmed, anxious, or like they are simply not coping the way they “should” be.
But your body is not working against you.
Your body is communicating with you.
The nervous system is always speaking.
Through hormones.
Through fatigue.
Through pain & inflammation.
Through emotional sensitivity.
Through burnout.
Through the inability to truly rest and feel a sense of self and connection.
High cortisol and chronic stress begin changing the entire biological and hormonal landscape of the body. Over time, we can seemingly lose connection not only to ourselves, but to safety, softness, intuition, creativity, pleasure, and presence.
This is why so much of my work has become centred around nervous system regulation and self-connection.
Creating a space where women and men feel safe enough to soften.
Safe enough to feel.
Safe enough to listen to themselves again.
Safe enough to really share how they are feeling and what they are living through.
Because real and true healing isn't about just reducing symptoms or having no issues in life.
Its about alignment.
It's about coming back home to yourself.
It's about understanding your body instead of fighting it and trying to constantly change it, its about creating moments in your life where your nervous system no longer feels under threat and reconnecting to the deeper rhythm underneath the noise of life and the noise of the mental auto commentary that never seems to quiet.

Just sitting in stillness. With your self.
Thats it.
For something that seems so simple, it is deeply powerful.
And its the best place to start.
